SEPROJOVEN

Stephannie pertenece al clan Tubolwak de la comunidad indígena Brí Brí en Amubri, Talamanca en la Provincia de Limón en Costa Rica donde ella creció con la pasión de jugar fútbol. Siendo parte del equipo de fútbol de su communidad, Koswak FC y luego participando en las tres ediciones de la  "Copa Indígena", proyecto realizado por la ONG SEPROJOVEN que promueve oportunidades educativas y desarollo social con niñas, niños y  adolescentes de grupos vulnerables por medio de la recreacción, el arte y el deporte, con un enfoque de Derechos Humanos.

De esta manera, Stephannie, se convertió en la primera mujer indígena jugando en la primera división de fútbol femenino de Costa Rica. Actualmente es parte de la Selección Nacional de fútbol desde donde ella aboga por una sociedad sin discriminación contra la mujer indígena.

Stephannie Blanco promueve los derechos de niñas indígenas, sensibiliza la importancia de la identidad y motiva niñas para defender sus derechos. Su éxito en el fútbol  ha hecho de Stephannie una lidereza en su communidad, defendiendo los valores del esfuerzo, perseverancia y solidaridad.

Stephannie belongs to the clan Tubolwak in an indigenous community called Brí Brí in Amubri, Talamanca in the province of Limón in Costa Rica, where she grew up with a passion for playing football. She is part of the football team of her community, Koswak FC and particpated in all of the 3 "seasons" of the "Copa Indígena" a indigenous tournament. A project, realized by the NGO SEPROJOVEN which promotes lots of educational opportunities and social development for children and teenagers from vulnerable groups  through art and sports based on the human rights.

In this way, Stephannie, became the first indigenous woman to play in the first division of women in Costa Rica. At present she is part of the national team and she makes the most of her position to plead against widespread discrimination against indigenous women.

Stephannie Blanco promotes the rights of indigenous girls, and raises awareness about the importance of identity, empowering the girls to stand up for their rights. Her footballing success has made her a role model for her community, championing the values of effort, perseverance and solidarity.
